Opportunity for architects
Could you help us bring Newbury Quaker Meeting house up to date?
For over 15 years we’ve lived with the threat of losing our Meeting house. To our great joy, that threat has been lifted, because the approved redevelopment of Newbury town centre excludes the Meeting house.
We will, however, need create a new main entrance to the Meeting house. And because we’ve done only essential repairs for the past 15 years, we want to take the opportunity to upgrade, improve and possibly extend the building at the same time, with a focus on sustainable materials and energy conservation.
What we need now is an architect sympathetic to the requirements of a Quaker Meeting house, to plan and guide this work. If you might be that architect, or know someone who is, then please read the brief and get in touch. The full architects brief is available here. We need to receive expressions of interest by 31st August 2018.
