O tidings of comfort and joy!
A warm and joyful celebration of Christmas was had by all at the Quaker Meeting House in Reading, which was our first in-person since the pandemic.
We heard amusing words of poetry, reflections, sang carols in English and Polish, and heard the moving piano-piece ‘Ukrainian Carol of the Bells’.
Friends of all ages, some who we have not seen for years, blessed us with their presence.
Quakers do not mark times and seasons liturgically (Quaker Faith & Practice 27.42), but we enjoy Christmas as a time of consideration and being in close company with those dear to us.
