LGBTQ+ history month

Reading Quakers presented this online Meeting for Learning as part of LGBT+ History Month, which celebrated this aspect of our contribution towards human dignity and equality. Quakers in Britain have been campaigning for gay equality since the 1950’s, and we heard about expressions of same-sex love in Quaker journals from centuries before. The concern for gay rights has caused tensions in many global faith communities, Quakers being no exception, and we looked at the impact of this. Later this year we hope to have a stall at Reading Pride as part of our outreach to the LGBT+ community.
