Henley Quakers’ annual talk: COP26 and climate justice, 29 June
Each year Henley Quakers organise a public talk on a subject we are concerned about. This year it was given on-line on Tuesday 29 June by Chris Church of Oxford Friends of the Earth. Chris addressed the questions: What is COP26? Why is it so important? What can we do to support our leaders in their decision-making? What is climate justice?
Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, has said: ‘COP26 will decide the quality of life for every living thing on this planet for at least the next century.’ It’s difficult to imagine a more crucial inter-governmental meeting. We’re grateful to Chris Church for his knowledge of the background, and for his practical suggestions towards making a better world in future.
