Chairs to Sierra Leone

Women standing up as they learn to sew in Sierra Leone

The sewing room in a village in Sierra Leone will soon have a set of chairs from Maidenhead Quakers. The room is being built by a local charity of soroptomists and church members. They have already built a school and a library and were greatly in need of chairs.

Maidenhead Quakers received an appeal for good second-hand items to support the project, including suitcases, sewing equipment and materials, and and gardening tools.  We recently replaced our chairs and the previous ones are being shipped to Sierra Leone.
