Doing business, the friendly way
How do Quakers make corporate decisions?
Our Meetings for Business (or Church Affairs) are done in the spirit of Worship, where we strive for patience, deep listening, and careful discernment.
This practice is the same at all levels, from our Local Meetings, to the Yearly Meeting, to our national executive Meeting for Sufferings.
Mid-Thames Area Meeting for Business has for the first time since the start of the pandemic joyfully resumed in person, supported and administered by our Clerks (pictured), Amanda Griffin (Wallingford) and Angela Mason (Reading).
Quakers from our seven constituent Meetings gathered in Newbury, where Friends provided warm hospitality, and we look forward to reforging our connections.
