Newbury Meeting house – latest update
For over 15 years Newbury Quakers lived with the threat of losing our Meeting house. To our great joy, that threat has been lifted, because the approved redevelopment of Newbury town centre excludes the Meeting house.
We will, however, need create a new main entrance to the Meeting house. And because we’ve done only essential repairs for the past 15 years, we want to take the opportunity to upgrade, improve and possibly extend the building at the same time, with a focus on sustainable materials and energy conservation. The full architects brief is available here.
We’re pleased to have received expressions of interested from a number of architects, and are in the process of selecting one to help us plan and guide this work.
