Quakers in Britain run the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI),

Reading Quakers were pleased to welcome an Ecumenical Accompanier, Maria, to tell us about her time in the Hebron Hills during 2016. She told us of the harassment of the shepherds who go to their lands with their sheep and goats but get abuse from the local settlers.   They are pleased to have the support of EAs. We were reminded about house demolitions which happen constantly – and have heard since from a current EA about a car wash business  there which has been demolished.

It’s important to keep the situation there in people’s minds and remind them what they can do to help. For example, reading  EA’s blogs, talking to people, being careful where the food you buy is coming from and writing to MPs.                                               4 October 2017
