Not sure what the different EU parliamentary groups stand for? Unclear about how your vote counts?  Our display and talk can help!

You’ll get the broad view on what the different groups stand for, by seeing all their manifestos together. We’ve also asked questions to each group about issues of particular concern to Quakers – peace, migration & asylum, the environment and social justice – and will display their answers.

Jessica Metheringham (Quaker parliamentary engagement officer) will explain the proportional representation system used to elect MEPs and how the different parts of the EU system (parliament, commission and council of Europe) work together to make laws.

There’ll be time for questions, informal discussions and refreshments.  All are welcome.
