Come for tea with Reading Quakers

Reading Meeting House and burial ground
Reading Meeting House and burial ground

..visit our Grade II listed Meeting House, relax in an urban wildlife garden, and enjoy our art exhibition.

All are welcome to this free Heritage weekend event, from 2-5pm on Saturday 8th September, at 2 Church Street, Reading RG1 2SB.

Take the opportunity to meet Reading Quakers, tour our Meeting House, and learn how our garden and burial ground have evolved and how they are maintained to encourage urban wildlife.

There will also be an exhibition of art by Reading Quakers, and plenty of cake!

We’re also holding a joint Heritage event with Abbey Baptists and St Giles’ Anglicans on Friday 7th September: three very different faith groups joining together for an evening celebrate our independent traditions. Find out more here.

And if you’re free on the morning of Saturday 8th September, why not try a tour of Broad Street chapel with local author and Quaker Geoff Sawers, followed by a signing of his book ‘Broad Street Chapel & the Origins of Dissent in Reading’. Find out more here.
